Phenom People Volunteers for Career Wardrobe

One of Phenom People’s core values is self-confidence, and we exemplify this value by being bold and believing in our purpose to help a billion people find the right job. Phenom employees recently took living this core value outside of the workplace by volunteering with a local Philadelphia chapter of Career Wardrobe. A non-profit organization that supplies professional clothing to those in need throughout the city, Career Wardrobe also offers coaching in a classroom environment as well as one-on-one sessions.

Karen Baerg, Senior Director of Client Services at Phenom People, introduced the opportunity to support Career Wardrobe because of her passion for extending the mission of Phenom People to the community. Karen worked with Career Wardrobe to set up donation bins in the office and encourage employees to clean out their closets for the non-profit. In total, Phenom employees donated five bins of clothing, including five suits.

Karen and her Client Services team traveled to the Philadelphia boutique to spend an afternoon volunteering and meeting with the Career Wardrobe staff, “Working with the Career Wardrobe staff was such a treat," said Karen.

"They really care about helping the individuals that come in for assistance.  They were so appreciative of our efforts and having it as a team building activity was an added bonus! Their mission was such a natural extension of Phenom’s purpose, it was a perfect fit.”

Another employee who participated, Amy McClenahan, Director of Client Services, reflects,  “Spending the afternoon volunteering at Career Wardrobe was such a positive experience. Career Wardrobe's mission to empower people with professional clothing, job search support, and skills development aligns very well with Phenom's mission to help one billion people find the right job. Personally, I'm beyond proud to work for Phenom People, a truly caring and conscientious employer.”

On behalf of everyone who contributed to the Career Wardrobe bins and participated during the volunteer outing, Phenom is grateful for the opportunity to support an incredible cause that helps others find the self-confidence they need to achieve their goals.
